Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Curt Four-Pole Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2024 Mazda CX-90. Adding trailer wiring harness to any vehicle that has a hitch is a great idea and the CX-90 is no different. And the reason being is, you may be using this just for a bike rack or cargo carrier, but if you ever have to pull a small trailer for whatever reason, you wanna be able to hook up to it and be legal and safe. And that's what this is going to do. It's gonna transmit the light signals from your running lights, your turn signals and brake lights to the lights on your trailer. And luckily enough, this is actually a really easy installation to do by yourself. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the CURT four-pole wiring harness on your 2023 Mazda CX30. In order to use your wiring for this kit, all you have to do is open up the rear hatch, lift up your storage panel, pull your wiring out, and run it down to your trailer. And when you close your rear hatch, you just want to be sure to keep it far enough away from this latch so that it doesn't make contact with it. The weather seal here will protect the wiring and won't cause any damage, but when you get ready to hook up to a trailer, then your wiring's right here, you can connect to the trailer and it's gonna make you safe and legal when traveling down the road. Your four-pole wiring harness is gonna be your most common out on the road. more

Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2022 Mazda CX-30- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at Etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing Tekonsha T1 Trailer wiring harness on a 2022 Mazda CX-30. If you plan on towing a trailer or if you have accessories with lights on them, having a four pole wiring is going to allow you to have your light signals, including your running lights, your brake lights and turn signals transfer to the trailer or accessories letting the people behind you know what you're doing and it's gonna keep you safe and legal. Now this is a pretty easy way to get wiring in because it snaps into factory connections of your taillights and just kind of jumpers in. Now with that, you are gonna need to run a power wire up to the battery and that's kind of where it gets a little bit tricky of just going underneath the car to run it. But overall, the installation is fairly easy and the great part about this is even though you're plugging into your factory wiring, it's module protected, so if you ever have a back feed from your trailer, it's not gonna fry any of the lights on your OEM harness. So that's really nice, you get a little piece of mind there and there's also a fuse to keep it protected as well. more

So here we have our 4-Pole installed and you can see it's got a nice dust cap protector, and that way it's nice and protected from any dirt, grime or debris. And whenever we're ready to use our plug, it's right there. Now this customer has actually opted to use a bracket to mount it outside, but you can actually have this live inside your vehicle and you just kind of coil it up in the back and whenever you need to use it, you can simply drape it outside of your hatch and it's gonna be safe to use. And it's also gonna stay nice and clean when you're not using it. more

Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2018 Mazda CX-5- Video
Hey everybody, how's it going Today we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Curt T-Connector Trailer Wiring Harness here on our 2018 Mazda CX-5. So here you can see, we have the trailer connector secured to the safety-chain loops using the dust cap that comes in the kit here. So the dust cap, and again, it serves two functions, it allows us to secure the trailer connector and also helps protect the pins from any water getting in there causing any corrosion issues and affecting our lights. So the key connector provides us with a 4-way flat trailer connector. That's gonna be the most common, chances are most trailers that we're gonna be towing with our CX-5 are gonna have that type of connector. This one is gonna transmit the basic signals that we need to remain legal while out on the road. more

It is a four-pole flat trailer connector that is designed to live inside the vehicle. When you're ready to use it, it drapes out the back. What I like about this is that it protects your harness from the elements when it's not in use, and then when you're ready to use it, you can just pull it out. Some people seem to think that hanging it out over the back here is going to cause damage to the wiring, but the weatherstripping there does have plenty of space in it, to where it's not going to crush the wiring, and the weather strip actually kind of clamps it just enough to hold it in place, to keep it from sliding around. more

Bob: Bob here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-Pole flat trailer connector on our 2019 Mazda CX9. Now our Tekonsha wiring is going to give us a 4-pole flat trailer connector and where we have all the required lights to get down the road safely. Whether we're towing a trailer or we have some other kind of hitch mounted accessory that uses lights, our wiring is here to provide us our taillight signal, our turn signals and our brake lights. One thing I do want to mention is we chose to mount our wiring on the outside of the vehicle close to the hitch so it's easily accessible and ready for us. And we're also using a 4-pole bracket to mount it so it's nice and secure, but our bracket is not included with the wiring. Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Mazda 5- Video
Today on our 2007 Mazda 5, we'll be installing the Takonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness, with four-pole flat trailer connector, part number 118520. All right, with our wiring all installed we're ready to hook up to our trailer. We just need to open up our hatch, open our jack cover door, here, on the driver's side, and grab our wiring from it's stored location. Pull it on out. Set it to the side of our hatch latch right here. Close our hatchback on up over it. Now, as you can see, has adequate length to get down right next to our hitch, so we're ready to hook up to our trailer. Just take the dust cover off, plug up our connection from our trailer. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Mazda CX-9 118278- Video
Today on our 2016 Mazda CX 9, we'll be installing Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness for the factory tow package. This will will give us a 4-pole flat trailer connector. Part number 118278. When we've arrived at our and we've unhooked from our trailer, we can replace the dust cap on our wiring, open our hatch on up, open this compartment on up, and store our wiring inside of it. It's tucked up out of the way, we don't have to worry about any of our cargo damaging it, and it's there for when we need it. Whenever we want to use our wiring, we just got to lift up on this cover, lift it out, set it to the side of our trunk latch, put it down by our hitch, and then close our trunk on up. All right, here's what our wiring harness comes with. We have our wiring harness here with a plug that goes to the factory tow package wiring in our rear hatch. more

Today in our 2008 Mazda CX7, we're going to be taking a look at an installing the tow ready tow package vehicle wiring harness with four pull flat trailer connector, part number 118249. Here's what this wiring is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see right now, it's not visible. When it's not in use, it's very easy to keep tucked away and hidden, but when you're ready to use it, you can just lift up on the floor of your cargo area and pull it out so then you can use it. Drape it out of the trunk and close the trunk. When you do that you want to be sure to avoid the cargo area here. That's a big no no because it may pinch or damage your wire. more

Today on our 2016 Maxda CX-5, we'll be installing the tow-ready T-One vehicle wiring harness, part number 118568. Now to better assist us in our installation of our wiring harness here, we'll be using part number 18136 and 18144 available on our website. These are couple brackets that we can use to externally mount our 4-pole flat trailer connector to our hitch. Here's our 4-pole flat connector installed on our vehicle. The reason you want one of these is so you could tow a standard trailer and have all the lightening functions required by law. This is a standard 4-pole flat. We have our turn signals, we have our tail lights and we'll have our brake lights. more

Today on our 2008 Mazda Tribute, we will be installing the tow-ready T-One vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector. It is part number 118551. In order to begin your installation, we will need to gain access to the rear tailgate. Now we will want to remove our tail light assemblies on either side using a Phillips head screwdriver. I will grab our tail light assembly. Let's pull towards us. Squeeze on the tab and remove our electrical connectors going to our bulbs. more

Today on our 2015 Mazda CX5 we'll be taking a look at and installing the curt T connector with inaudible 00:00:06 trailer connector. Part number C56011. We're ready to use our wire harness. It's going to be really easy to find. All you're going to need to do is gain access to that spare tire compartment, pull out your wire, and run it right over the back. Close it up and then close down our hatch over the top, making sure that it isn't in the center where that latch assembly's going to hook up right here and over the top of the weather stripping. Now, the weather stripping's going to be thick enough that it isn't going to damage your wire in any way. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2010 Mazda CX-9- Video
Today on our 2010 Mazda CX9 we're going to install the CURT 4-pole wiring trailer connector, part number 56016. Now to use our new 4-pole connector we'll simply open up the rear cargo area, storage component, taking our 4-pole harness, running it out over the rear threshold. Stay away from the latch, as pinching it off in the latch can damage the wire. However, our weather stripping is thick enough that we can simply close the rear hatch on it. Then we can take our 4-pole connector and run it down to our hitch and use it with our accessory. Then once we're done we'll simply open up the rear hatch, the rear storage compartment, where we're going to house the 4-pole connector. To begin our install we'll first open up the rear hatch. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Mazda CX-5- Video
Today on our 2013 Mazda CX5 we'll be installing the Tow Ready T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness, part number 118563. Now to use our new four pole harness, take our four pole harness and run it towards the center of the vehicle and down to our hitch or accessory. Be careful, stay away from the latches, pinching it off in the latch can harm the wire; however, the weather stripping is thick enough that we can simply close the rear hatch on the wire. Then once we're finished we'll simply roll it up and store it in the rear cargo area here on the driver's side. To begin our install we'll first open up the rear cargo door and remove the rear cargo liner. Next we'll go ahead and remove the rear threshold. To remove the rear threshold, there are two push pin fasteners we'll have to remove first. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 Mazda 3- Video
Today on this 2011 Mazda 3, we're going to install part number 118420, this is a T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. Now to install our wire harness, we have to get inside the vehicle and remove some access panels so we can make our connections and also route wires from the driver's side over to the passenger's side. Let's go ahead and take this panel and get it out of our way and this foam insert can be pushed out of the way as well. Let's go ahead and get this panel opened up here because our connections will be right back here. Let's go to the passenger's side and get the panel out of the way. Now we need to also loosen up our threshold here, there's a plastic rivet on each side, just pull out the center and then pull out the rivet. This will be the passenger's side one. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2004 Mazda 3- Video
Today, on our 2004 Mazda3 five door, we're going to be installing to Tow Ready T-One vehicle wiring harness before pole flat trailer connector, part number 118420. Now, to begin with, we are going to need to open up the rear hatch of the vehicle. We'll then need to remove this center threshold piece, here. Now, in order to do that, we need to lift up a couple of item here so we can pull the center threshold piece out. Go ahead and set this piece out for now too to give ourself a little bit more working room. Now, in order to remove this center threshold piece, there's a push fastener, here, that you'll need to remove, looks something like that, and there's one right over here on this side as well. With our two push fasteners removed, go ahead and gently pull up on the center section, releasing the tabs underneath. more

Today on this 2010 Mazda 3, we're going to install part number 118420 from Tow Ready. This is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. To install our wire harness, we need to get inside the trunk. We open up the trunk lid and we need to remove some interior panels to get your wiring behind the taillights. We'll start with the floor covering and get it out of the way. All right, two holders will come out there easy enough, so I'm also take them out. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2002 Mazda Tribute- Video
Today on our 2002 Mazda Tribute, we'll be installing the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 118343. We'll go ahead and show you how to use your new 4-Pole Trailer Connector. We'll simply open up the rear cargo door and run it out and down to your hitch or accessory, being careful to stay away from the latch as pinching the wire off in the latch can damage it. However, the weather stripping is thick enough that it won't. We'll close the rear cargo door on the 4-Pole connector and pull out any necessary wire to reach our hitch or accessory. Then, once we're finished using the new 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, we'll simply open up the rear cargo door, roll it up, and store it in the rear storage compartment. To begin our install, we'll go ahead and remove the rear taillights. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2014 Mazda CX-5- Video
Okay, today on this 2014 Mazda CX5, we're going to install part number C56011 from Curt. This is a Curt T connector, vehicle-wiring harness with a 4 pole flat. Now we're going to install our wire harness. We need to get inside the vehicle so we will go ahead and open the back hatch and we'll go ahead and remove the floor coverings, as well as the threshold. It looks like there's two plastic fasteners. Okay, we'll go ahead and remove the rivet right here, this plastic rivet, so we will pull out the center and then the rest of it comes right out. It's just a steady pull straight up, will release it from those snaps. There it is. One is stuck so we'll just use a trim-panel tool to remove it. Out next step is to work with the side panel here, so we're going to undo this fastener and just pull it out a little bit so we'll get some extra working room to work our wires inside. It might be a good idea to go ahead and remove the phone core support inside as well. more

Today, in our 2011, Mazda CX7, we're going to install Part Number 118405. Our wire harness is going to be inside the vehicle. We need open the back hatch and remove some interior panels. It's a good idea to go ahead and clean out your vehicle first before you try something like this. We're going to go ahead and remove all floor coverings. Next, we need to go ahead and remove the trays, one on each side. more

All right, today on our 2014 Mazda CX-5, we're going to install part number 118563. To start off our install, we're going to have to open up the back hatch and get access to the wiring behind the tail lights, so we're going to have to remove some interior body panels to do this. First off, we'll remove the floor coverings to get down to the spare tire. Next we'll go ahead and remove yourthreshold. Next we'll go ahead and remove the foam inserts around the spare tire. Now to remove the threshold, there will be two plastic fasteners, one on each end, we have to remove. Working from the bottom and prying from the sides, we'll go ahead and work it free, then we can go ahead and loosen up the side panels. There will be a small plastic fastener we have to remove, we'll do this on both sides. more

Today on the 2013 Mazda CX-5, we're going to install part number C56011 from Curt. Now, our wiring harness installs right behind the tail lights so we're going to remove some interior panels. The first up, we'll go ahead and open up the hatch. Then we'll take the spare tire cover and fold it back. Now, in the inside edge, there will be two plastic fasteners that we have to remove. Then we'll go ahead and remove the threshold. A steady pressure pulling up on the bottom edge pulling straight up will get to release in the clips. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Mazda CX-7- Video
Today on our 2007 Mazda CX7, we'll be installing the tow-ready trailer wiring kit, part number 118249. This kit is designed if you have the OEM tow package. The OEM factory tow package port is actually located at the right rear of the vehicle. When you pull the cover off, you can see the wire is bundled up and actually has some black tape holding it in place. It is the white plug that we'll be plugging into. We'll first go ahead and set off the spare tire cover lid. more

Today, on our 2012 Mazda CX-9, we'll be installing the T-One Connector withUpgraded Circuit Protected ModuLite from Tow Ready, part number 118520.Now, we'll begin the installation by opening the rear door and folding the rear seatsforward. We'll now go ahead and remove the interior panels. We'll remove the trunkfloor panel, as well as the threshold. Now, we'll set those aside for reinstallation later.Now, on both sides of the vehicle, we'll need to remove the cargo loops. We'll do thisso that we can pull the trim panels away, to gain access to the plugs in the factorywiring harness. Now, here on the drivers side, we'll need to disconnect the factoryharness here at this plug. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2010 Mazda CX-7- Video
Today on this 2010 Mazda CX-7 were going to install part number 118405 from Tow Ready. The first thing we need to do is open up the back hatch and remove the interior panels. Well remove the floor coverings, well remove the threshold, and well remove the access panels on each side of the vehicle behind the taillights. With all the panels loosened up we can go ahead start installing our wire harness. Well start on the drivers side and work our way over to the passengers side. Now there will be two connections we need to make on the drivers side, therell be the yellow wire for return signal and there will be the red wire for the brake signal and also the running lights. more

Today on our 2012, Mazda CX9, well be installing Tow Ready T-1 connector module light kit, part number 118520. Now, to begin our install well simply open the rear cargo door. Well need to remove the lower panel here. Well need to undo the two bolts holding in the cargo tie-downs. With our tray removed, we can go ahead and remove our rear threshold. Now, that our interiors disassembled, well peel the side panel away to expose our taillight connector. more

Today on this 2010 Mazda CX9 were going to install part number 118520 from Tow-Ready. The first thing need to do is open up the back hatch. What we need to do is get access behind the tail light so that means have to remove all the floor coverings. It looks like Ive got to take the subwoofer now and move it out of the way so we can move this panel out. Well unsnap our electrical connector and we get back to the threshold and remove it. Theres a tie down loop here and here we have to remove. more

The port that we are going to be plugging into is actually located on the passenger side behind the interior panel right behind this access point in here so pull this panel back.
